OBIT GWAZDAUSKAS, JAMES FRANCIS
GWAZDAUSKAS, James Francis ("Jim"), 18, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, March
28, 1993, at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Fla. He was a member of
St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a 1992 graduate of Blacksburg High School.
He was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Blacksburg High School
Soccer team, All-State Soccer team, All-Southeast Regional Soccer team. He was
a freshman at the University of Florida where he made the dean's list, fall of
1992. He was a member of St. Augustine Newman Center, Beta Theta Pi Pledge and
also active in the Intramural programs. Surviving are his mother and father,
Judy and Frank; sister, Jennifer; two brothers, John and Peter Gwazdauskas,
all of Blacksburg; grandmother and grandfather, Agnes Eva and Francis J.
Gwazdauskas, Parma Heights, Ohio; aunts and uncles, Rita and Jim Davis,
Covina, Calif., Joseph and Ruth Ellen Gwazdauskas, W. Cornwell, Conn., Maryann
and Gil Garcia, Stockton, Calif., John and Jill Gwazdauskas, Seattle, Wash.,
Theresa and Reid Robbins, Shaker Heights, Ohio, Edward and Amy Gwazdauskas,
Grove City, Ohio, Paul and Cheryl Gwazdauskas, Winston-Salem, N.C., Margaret
and Charles Chistopher, Poland, Ohio, Christine Gwazdauskas, Parma Heights,
Ohio, Jane and Tyler Upham, Ormond Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be held
Friday, April 2, 1993, at 4 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Donald
LeMay will officiate. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family
will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. A prayer service will be held
at 7 p.m. with visitation until 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to the James Gwazdauskas Memorial
Scholarship Fund. They may be sent to the Blacksburg High School, Patrick
Henry Dr., Blacksburg, Va. 24060, and make the checks payable to the school.
