OBIT SHRADER, CLARENCE CARMEL
SHRADER, Clarence Carmel, 83, of Narrows, died Tuesday morning in Giles
Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. He was born in Bland County on July 15,
1909, and was the son of the late David and Alice Walker Shrader. He was a
retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Fibers Company Plant at Narrows, and
was a member of Interment Lodge #269 A.F. & A.M. of Narrows and a member of
the Valley Presbyterian Church in Narrows. He is survived by his wife, Lillie
Elmore Shrader of Narrows; a son, Dan Elmore Shrader of Narrows; three
sisters, Sadie Walker, York, Pa., Virginia Black, Roanoke, Va., Nina
Millirons, Narrows, Va. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at
Valley Presbyterian Church in Narrows with the Rev. Steve Leonard officiating.
Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Narrows. The family will
receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows where friends may call
Wednesday evening from 6 until 8, where a Masonic memorial service will be
conducted by Intermont Lodge #269 of Narrows. The family suggest that in lieu
of flowers, memorials be made to the Valley Presbyterian Church in Narrows.
