OBIT LEIGHTON, JOHN ROBERT
LEIGHTON, John Robert, 84, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, December 30, 1992 in Highland Manor Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertie C. Leighton. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Emmett Thompson, Radford; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Howard and Joyce Leighton, Brookville, Pa., Robert and Betty Leighton, Radford, Wilbur and Lena Leighton, Christiansburg; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Leighton, Hopewell; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. O.D. Morgan. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Friday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
