DANVILLE MINISTER FACES 40 YEARS FOR FORGERY

A Danville minister is facing up to 40 years in prison for forging a church trustee's signature to buy a truck and keeping the truck for his personal use without paying for it.

David K. Fuller, 43, of Martinsville, will be sentenced Monday in Danville Circuit Court. He was convicted Nov. 18 of forgery, uttering and grand larceny, according to Commonwealth's Attorney William H. Fuller III.

"He's looking at a maximum of 10 years for forgery, 10 years for the uttering, and 20 years for the grand larceny," Fuller said.

According to authorities, Fuller bought a truck for the Greater Mount Zion Temple three years ago from S&B Motor Co. Inc. He showed a letter from the church's trustees authorizing the purchase, but the signature of trustee William Hairston had been forged, according to assistant prosecutor Les McCann. - Associated Press
