MOTTESHEARD, ANNA RUTH
MOTTESHEARD, Anna Ruth, of Petersburg, died December 31, 1992, at the
Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond, Va. Miss Mottesheard was
born and grew up in Radford, Va. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
C. Mottesheard. She received her BS degree from Radford College and her
Masters from Applachian State College in Boone, N. C. She taught in the high
school in Forsythe County, N. C. and Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem and
was professor in the business department at Richard Bland College in
Petersburg until her retirement. Miss Mottesheard is survived by two sisters,
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Simpkins of Richmond, Va. and Mrs. Evelyn M. Veselik of
Marion, Va.; one brother, Bonham Mottesheard of Williamson, W.Va.; one niece,
three nephews, three great-nephews and one great-niece. Visitation will be
held at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home in Colonial Heights, Va. on Saturday,
January 2, 1993, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will follow visitation at 8 p.m.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 1993, at DeVilbiss
Funeral Home in Radford, Va. A graveside service will follow the visitation at
Westview Cemetery at 2 p.m. The Rev. George Ducker will officiate. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in
her name.
