OBIT UMPHLETT, EUGENE FELTON
UMPHLETT, Eugene Felton, 78, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday, December 30, 1992, following a long illness. Born in New Hope, N. C., he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Betty Umphlett. He was a retired supervisor at the Hoechst-Celanese Plant near Narrows, a member of the Pembroke Ruritan Club and a member and served as an elder in the Pembroke Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce U. Martin. Surviving are his wife, Edith Hendrickson Umphlett; one daughter, Carol U. Hosen, Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Michael Hosen, Denver, Colo., Debbie Perry, Southington, Conn.; Anita Santa Maria, Torrington, Conn., Rick Martin, Richardson, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Vertley Jones, Chesapeake, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Pembroke Christian Church with the Rev. Barry Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 Saturday evening.
