ALLEGHANY BOUNCES CAVE SPRING
Mike Hunter and Todd Wheatley combined for 55 points as Alleghany rolled past Cave Spring 86-76 Saturday in a non-district boys' basketball game at the Knights' gym.The Mountaineers remained unbeaten in eight games.
Hunter, a 6-foot-1 guard, scored 29 points and Wheatley, a 6-4 forward, added 26 points for the Mountaineers.
The Mountaineers came out strong, taking a 46-32 lead at halftime. Cave Spring battled back to seven points behind in the fourth quarter, but Alleghany pulled away with free throws.
Robbie Hibbs led Cave Spring (3-6) with 19 points. Matt Matheny and Dusty Beekman each had 15.

LEBANON - The Pioneers put four players in double figures and notched the victory over the Warriors in a Hogoheegee District game.
Aaron Fuller and Ben Campbell had 17 points apiece as Lebanon (1-1) used balanced scoring in every quarter.
Chilhowie stayed close in the first half but went cold from the field in the third quarter, failing to hit its perimeter shots against Lebanon's zone defense. B.J. Preston led the Warriors with 14 points.
