KIHM, EDWARD PHILLIP
KIHM, Edward Phillip, 81, of Smith Mountain Lake, died suddenly Thursday,
December 31, 1992. He was born in Pennsylvania on November 19, 1911, a son of
the late Louis and Gertrude Sorg Kihm. He was retired from Midland Steel in
Cleveland, Ohio, and was a communicant of Resurrection Catholic Church in
Moneta. Mr. Kihm was the husband of the late Marian Christyson Kihm. Survivors
include two sons, Thomas E. Kihm, Troutville, Edward J. Kihm, Greensboro, N.
C.; four daughters, Mary Louise Barker, San Francisco, Calif., Kathleen G.
Esson, Erie, Pa., Joan M. Kihm, Moneta, Eileen K. Montoni, Roanoke; two
sisters, Gertrude Fritz, East Lake, Ohio, Marian Erdman, Cleveland, Ohio; one
brother, Leo Kihm, San Diego, Calif.; also eleven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday,
January 5, 1993, at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church with the Rev.
James J. Begley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The
family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Monday evening at the
Resurrection Catholic Church. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home,
Bedford. The family suggests that flowers be omitted.
