SCHEONHEITER, HERMAN KARL
SCHEONHEITER, Herman Karl, ("Bud"), 69, of Lynchburg and Smith Mountain
Lake, died Sunday, January 3, 1993, in a Lynchburg hospital. He was born in
New Jersey on November 5, 1923, a son of the late Clarabelle Scheonheiter
Hogan. He was a retired field representative for New Jersey Machine
Corporation, and was a World War II veteran. Bud was an avid flyer and glider
instructor, and enjoyed water sports such as boating and sailing on Smith
Mountain Lake. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a
brother, Jack Hogan. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Kaye Scheonheiter; two
daughters, Roxanne Edelmann of Brookville, Md., Christine Vitello of Jupiter,
Fla.; and two stepdaughters, Jennifer Omaster of Gloucester, Marya Elder of
Lynchburg. His dogs, Grover and Gypsy, and some assorted felines also survive.
A memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 1993, at the
Carder-Tharp Funeral Home with Dr. Frank J. Schmitt officiating. The family
will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Sanders Volunteer Fire
Company, Rt. 1, Box 33F, Huddleston, Va. 24104.
