BURTON, BETTY LANE
BURTON, Betty Lane, 61, of Rt. 2, Narrows, died Sunday morning, January 3, 1993, in the Giles Memorial Hospital, Pearisburg. She was born in Bland County on February 15, 1931, a daughter of the late George James and Laura Kate Stacy Lane. She was a member of the Hales Chapel United Methodist Church of Rt. 2, Narrows. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Paul Burton, Rt. 2, Narrows; two daughters, Teresa M. Thompson of Bland, Paula M. Dillow of Wytheville; five brothers, Lewis E. Lane of Princeton, W.Va., George James Lane of Powhatan, Va., Roger L. and Harold E. Lane, both of Richmond, Richard W. Lane of Pennsylvania; one sister, Frankie L. Hayes, Maryland; and five grandchildren, Timothy, Chad and Melanie Thompson, all of Bland, Chris and Tawny Dillow, both of Wytheville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hales Chapel United Methodist Church, Rt. 2, Narrows, with the Rev. Doug Hyndrich and the Rev. Sylvia Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Bastian. The family will meet their friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows.
