INAPPROPRIATE FOR STUDENTS
AS CONCERNED students of Cave Spring High School, we would like to express the outrage of a large portion of the student body at the content of a program to which we were exposed at school.Under the pretext of educating us about the dangers of homemade bombs, we were taken to the auditorium, without prior warning, and shown extremely graphic slides of various injuries that had been caused by bombs.
After seeing several slides, including one of a person's hand after being blown to pieces and one of a man's stomach after being ripped apart by a bomb, many of us got up and left the auditorium. Those who did not experienced another 30 minutes of similar material.
While the majority of us feel that education about the dangers of homemade bombs may be important, the 40 minutes of explicit material presented was completely inapproriate to show to students of a public high school.
