2 REEL IN TOP HONORS IN CASTING COMPETITION

Lauren Bowen and Barron Griffith were the big winners at the Rubbermaid-Bassmasters CastingKids competition at New River Valley Mall last month.

Bowen, of Christiansburg, won the 7-10 age group.

Griffith, of Independence, captured the 11-14 age group.

Both received a rod-and-reel set, a tackle box and a medal.

The winners also qualified for the state competition Jan. 24 in Richmond.
