OBIT-TILSON, JOHN ROSS

TILSON, John Ross, 63, of Marion, died Monday, January 4, 1993 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Helen Romans Tilson of Marion; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny David and Sherry Lynn Tilson of Sugar Grove; one granddaughter, April Lynn Tilson of Sugar Grove; four sisters, Irma Testerman and Florence Null, both of Marion, Grace Goodpasture of Abingdon, and Elizabeth Hall of Washington, Ga.; two brothers, Harry Edward Tilson of Falls Church and Joseph "Ted" Tilson of Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 1993 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Bryan Childress, Rev. Mike Sage and Rev. Michael Weller officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
