SHEARER, ESMOND GIBBS, JR. ("BUSTER")

SHEARER, Esmond Gibbs, Jr. ("Buster"), 73, of Bedford, passed away Monday, January 4, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born July 31, 1919 in Lynchburg a son of the late Esmond Gibbs Shearer, Sr. and Mary Watson Shearer. He was a Structural Steel Engineer, having been employed by Piedmont Metal Products, and was also a devoted associate of Goode's Country Kitchen. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, a member of the Bedford Host Lions Club, and was a life judge for the American Rose Society, having received a Silver Honor Medal from the Society. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 6, 1993 at 11 a.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will be private. Visitation will begin after 12 noon today, and friends may gather from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
