DAVIS, LAURA STEWART
DAVIS, Laura Stewart, 66, of Pearisburg, died Monday, January 4, 1993, in
Roanoke Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Mrs. Davis was a member
of the Pearisburg Baptist Church and was a volunteer supervisor for the Giles
County Christian Kitchen. She was born at Mannington, W.Va., on June 13, 1926,
and was a daughter of the late Paul H. and Lucille Clutter Stewart. She was
the widow of Donald D. Davis. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law,
Betsy and Jim Beamer of Richmond, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and
Jenny Davis of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Marjorie Reeder of Vienna, Va.,
Mary Lou Wilson of Clarksburg, W.Va.; one brother, Sample H. Stewart of
Hartwood, Va.; two grandchildren, Joe Oxendine of Columbus, Ohio, Laura Love
of Virginia Beach; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted Wednesday, January 6, 1993, at 2 p.m. in the Pearisburg Baptist
Church with the Rev. Lee Ellison officiating, with burial in Birchlawn Burial
Park. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home Tuesday
evening from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Giles County Christian Kitchen, P.O. Box 360, Pearisburg, Va. 24134 or the
Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1631, Roanoke, Va. 24008.
