BLAND, MATTIE VIRGINIA

BLAND, Mattie Virginia, 64, of Christiansburg, died Monday, January 4, 1993 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mrs. Bland was born in Montgomery County, January 29, 1929, to the late George Monroe and Mary Williams Luckado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Bland. Surviving are four sisters, Bertha Cupp and Dorothy Thorps, both of Shawsville, Louise Hawks, Blacksburg, Martha Graves, Christiansburg; one half brother, Jack Sawyers, Radford. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. The Rev. Homer D. Sawyer will officiate. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
