GARDNER, LEONARD EDWARD
GARDNER, Leonard Edward, 69, of Radford, and formerly of Floyd, passed away
Tuesday, January 5, 1993 in a Roanoke hospital. He was a veteran of World War
II. He is survived by his wife, Edith F. Gardner, Radford; two sons, Leonard
Edward Gardner Jr., and Gregory Scott Gardner, both of Radford; daughter and
son-in-law, Shirley and Ronald Phillips, Radford; two grandchildren, Traci and
Brian Phillips, Radford; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Una and Cadell
Cooper, Tucker, Ga., Martha G. Gillham, and Reba G. Rodgers, both of
Williamston, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Dot C. Gardner, and Goldie A. Gardner,
both of Floyd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be Thursday, 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd with
the Rev. William Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Burial Park,
Radford. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gardner
Funeral Home, Floyd. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or
the Improvement Capital Fund of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church.
