Radford University will offer its spring semester Elderhostels beginning Jan. 24. The following sessions and times are available:\ Jan. 24-29: Ray Penn, associate professor of communications, will discuss "Communication with Others Without Going Crazy"; Steve Lerch of the sociology and anthropology department will present "No Fun in the Toy Department: Key Issues Facing Sports in the 1990s"; Beverly Zeakes, physical health and education instructor will discuss nutrition and weight control.
\ Feb. 21-26: Karma Castleberry, associate professor of nursing, discusses practical strategies for health care consumers; English professor Jolanta Wawrzcyka talks about Nobel-prize winning literature; Samuel Zeakes, biology professor, discusses advances in biology.
\ March 21-26: Rick Slavings, associate professor of sociology, explores why people commit heinous acts or join bizarre groups; geography professor Michael Maniates discusses environmental hype; Clayland Waite, professor of communication, talks about how television affects our lives.
\ March 28-April 2: Janette Newhouse, professor of human development, compares families of the 1950s to those of the 1990s; Richard Straw of the history department discusses Southern history and life; Geology instructor Ernst Kastning explores natural history of Appalachian caves.
