PHONE COMPANY TO OPEN CUSTOMER OFFICE AT MALL

A United Telephone-Southeast customer service office will open Feb. 8 in Wytheville in the Mountain View Square Shopping Center.

It will be staffed by two employees, to be transferred from the main office of the Bristol-based telephone company. Its hours will be announced later.

United closed its Wytheville customer service office in September 1986. Customers either mailed their monthly bill payments or paid them at banks where arrangements had been made to receive them.
