LOCAL CHILDREN LEFT OUT OF MONTICELLO EVENT
Local education officials say they were upset that area students were left out when President-elect Clinton selected students to participate in an inaugural event at Monticello."I'm really disappointed that children from this community aren't going to be involved," said Joseph McGeehan, Charlottesville's school superintendent.
On Monday, the Presidential Inaugural Committee selected eight Washington-area schoolchildren to participate in an event Jan. 17 at Thomas Jefferson's home.
