MINISTER SENTENCED FOR FORGERY

A minister convicted of forgery, uttering and grand larceny was ordered to serve a year at the city's adult detention home after receiving a six-year suspended prison sentence.

David K. Fuller, 43, was accused of forging a letter to buy a $10,000 car. He also was ordered to pay the car dealer $2,000.

Authorities said Fuller went to S&B Motors to buy a 1990 Dodge Dynasty for $10,000. Fuller gave Sammy Burton of S&B a letter from the church's trustees authorizing the purchase.

On that letter was the forged signature of trustee William Hairston. The car later was repossessed.

The detention home allows its inmates to join work-release programs and other privileges.
