NEWMAN, J. HARRY

NEWMAN, J. Harry, 86, of Rt. 4, Vinton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 1993 at his residence. He was a longtime employee of Vinton Weaving Mill and was predeceased by his wife, Eva Elizabeth Martin Newman; a daughter, Delores N. Phillips. Surviving are one son, Leon Harry Newman, Roanoke; two daughters, Bertha N. Morris, Ruby N. Horn, both of Vinton; one brother, Tom Newman, Roanoke; three sisters, Georgia N. Jones, Vinton, Lois N. Howell, Boones Mill, Delsie Welch, High Point, N.C.; also 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held noon Friday, January 8, 1993 from Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Terry Mabrey officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
