FOR THE RECORD
Clarification:Clarification: A story in Sunday's paper about Rockbridge County quarry owner Chuck Barger's effort to expand his operation may have left the wrong impression that Barger blamed alleged blasting damage to nearby homes on the state. Barger said he had kept blasting within state maximum limits. He said that claims of damage attributable to his quarry are grossly exaggerated.
Also, a photo caption published with that story incorrectly stated that Barger planned to move his quarry across U.S. 60 from its present location. Actually, the photo showed existing quarry that lies south of U.S. 60 and which Barger hopes to expand. He also plans to move several allied operations that are currently located north of the highway to a location south of the highway.
