ARTS CENTER OPENS 1ST FULL SEASON JAN. 16

The new Paramount Center for the Arts will have its first full season in 1993, starting with a jazz performance by the Dukes of Dixieland on Jan. 16.

The facility is in a former movie theater that has been renovated as a regional arts center.

The other five scheduled events are:

Feb. 20, a play titled "Romance/Romance" which won five Tony Awards including Best Musical.

April 3 and 4, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, returning by popular demand following a previous performance at the center.

April 24, the Richmond Ballet Company in a full-scale production of "Coppelia."

June 4, pianist Mac Frampton.

Negotiations are under way on a sixth show.

The season package sells for $80 through Jan. 16, a 20 percent savings accompanied by guaranteed seat selection, discounts on additional tickets for other events, replacement of lost or stolen tickets, and advance notice on newly scheduled events.
