E&H PROFESSOR PUBLISHES ARMADA BOOK

An Emory & Henry College history professor has published a book on the Spanish Armada, due out this month.

"The Spanish Armada of 1588: Historiography and Bibliography," by Eugene L. Rasor, is part of a series from Greenwood Publishing Group Inc. on famous military battles and leaders. It is Rasor's fifth published book.

The 280-page volume was written as a resource for scholars, providing titles and brief descriptions of more than 1,100 books and articles with information on the 16th-century Spanish navy and its campaigns to conquer new territories.

At the time, Spain and England were the world's most powerful nations due in part to their navies. Spain came into conflict with England and other European powers, and the outcomes of their battles had longstanding implications for even present-day alliances.
