WOMAN BUYS $4.1 MILLION TICKET IN CITY

Wednesday's winning Lotto ticket - worth $4.1 million - was bought at the 7-Eleven at Guilford Avenue and Grandin Road in Southwest Roanoke.

The winner, though, has yet to identify herself to Virginia Lottery officials.

The winning ticket numbers drawn were 3, 24, 31, 35, 42 and 44.

"Oh ye-ah! This is so-o good," said Missy Mullins, a clerk at the 7-Eleven.

Mullins would not identify the woman who said she holds the winning ticket, but said she came by the store Thursday and then "went to see her lawyer."

Stores receive 5 cents for each ticket sold. A Lotto winner brings a bonus for the store as well: $5,000.

Wednesday's winner will receive about $139,400 per year after taxes, lottery spokeswoman Cherie Phaup said.

The winning ticket was the fourth purchased in the Roanoke Valley, and the first since a Salem woman won a $1.2 million jackpot in October.

Fifty tickets matched five of six numbers to win $1,559 each, while 2,766 matched four to win $60 each and 46,158 matched three to win a free play, Phaup said. The jackpot for Saturday's drawing is an estimated $1 million.
