ROANOKER NAMED TO ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Emory & Henry defensive end Scott Pruner, a junior from Cave Spring High in Roanoke, has been named to the Division III All-America football team published in Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Pruner had 13 1/2 sacks and another eight tackles for loss this past season for the Wasps, who reached the Division III semifinals before losing to Washington and Jefferson to finish 11-1. Pruner, a 6-foot-3, 215-pounder, was a repeat selection this year on the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference first team and the Roanoke Times & World-News all-state team. He has 31 career sacks, 15 1/2 as a sophomore. - Staff report
