MONTGOMERY GETS PROGRAM SUPPLEMENTS

The national United Way board recently chose Montgomery County to receive $8,123 to supplement and extend emergency food and shelter programs in the area. These funds have been appropriated by Congress to help expand the capacity of food and shelter programs.

The funds are available to any not-for-profit organization or local government agency either currently providing or capable of providing food or shelter services in the county.

Any organization wishing to apply for some of these funds may write to: United Way of Montgomery County, P.O. Box 554, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. There is one week to register for the program.
