FORMER PRESIDENT OF SYMPHONY DIES
John W. Henson III, Roanoke Symphony president in the 1970s and Colonial American National Bank executive, died Friday. He was 56.Henson, who began his career at the bank as an assistant cashier in 1962, retired in 1988 as executive vice president of retail banking.
He was also named to four terms as president of the Roanoke Symphony, beginning in 1975.
A graveside funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Evergreen Burial Park. Oakey's Roanoke Chapel is handling the arrangements.
