Theatre revises marketingMill Mountain Theatre has split its department of marketing and development into separate departments and named two directors. JUDY H. GRAHAM, formerly director of marketing and development, has been named director of development. An employee for five years, she previously worked as the director of public programs for the North Carolina Museum of Art.
\ MARTHA W. WIESE has been appointed director of marketing. For the past year, she has been owner and operator of Weise Consulting, a marketing-consulting firm. She has 25 years experience in public relations and corporate communications.
ARCHITECTS
\ WILLIAM B. GRANT has been named an engineer in the civil department of Wiley & Wilson in Lynchburg. He will be responsible for the design of water and waste-water treatment plants. Previously, he worked with Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan in Columbia, S.C.
CHILD CARE
\ LEANORA TURMAN has been named director of HoneyTree Early Learning Center at Lewis-Gale Hospital. Her responsibilities will include staffing, program development and parent communications. She has been involved with early childhood programs in the Roanoke Valley for 10 years.
Also, CHERYL MARTIN has been named director of marketing at the center. An\ employee for four years, she has been director for the center for two years.\ Her new responsibilities will include planning parent seminars, community\ involvement and corporate child care.
GOVERNMENT
\ WILLIAM R. FARRAR JR. has been named a customer service/public relations representative for the Henry County Public Service Authority. He will be responsible for handling customer inquiries and complaints, producing customer and employee newsletters and working with the news media.
INSURANCE
\ MAVA D. WINGATE of Salem has been appointed assistant vice president of policyholder services for the Atlantic Mutual Insurance Co. She will be responsible for all commercial policy writing and the processing of marine business nationwide. An employee since 1970, she has been manager of policyholder services since 1990.
\ DOUG FORBES, safety manager of Appalachian Power Co., has been named vice president of the Virginia Self-Insurers Association. The newly formed organization promotes self-insurers' interests with various legislative bodies and provides an avenue for exchanging information and resources to help workers address compensation issues in the state of Virginia.

\ GARY M. BOWMAN, formerly of Martin, Hopkins, Lemon & Edwards, P.C., has announced the opening of his office at 305 W. Campbell Ave. in Roanoke. His practice will specialize in litigation, environmental, energy and transportation regulation, corporate finance and international law. A graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the University of Virginia Law School, he was formerly law clerk to Judge Norman K. Moon of the Court of Appeals of Virginia and senior editor of The Virginia Journal of International Law.

Active in realty on local, state and national levels, he has served as president of the Roanoke Valley Board of Realtors and regional vice president of the Virginia Association of Realtors.
The Blue Ridge chapter of the Appraisal Institute has elected the following officers: president, LOUIS "STEVE" WALDROP JR., Waldrop Appraisal Service; vice president, SHARON H. \ R.B. FIRESTONE of Roanoke has been elected vice president of Region 5 of Virginia chapter 37 of the Realtors Land Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. He is a broker with Mastin, Kirkland, Bolling Inc.

CARL S. JENSEN of Roanoke has been re-elected a regional vice president of the National Railway Historical Society. He will direct activities of 11 chapters located in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
RETIREMENT CENTERS
\ DAVID R. MURRAY has been appointed director of development of The Warm Hearth Retirement Village, a non-profit senior living community in Blacksburg. He will direct the Warm Hearth Foundation's annual and capital fund-raising efforts. He formerly was executive director of the Julian Stanley Wise Foundation in Roanoke.
SALES
\ FREDERICK L. WALL and CHARLES W. PIERCE have been promoted to vice presidents at National Pools of Roanoke. Wall, who has been responsible for many of the national and regional awards for design that the firm has received, will work as vice president of design and construction. Pierce will be vice president for sales, construction and production.
