BROOKMAN ANNIVERSARY
Ernest and Velma Keith Brookman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 26, 1992 at Washington Heights Grace Brethren Church. They were married January 6, 1943 in Roanoke. The celebration event was hosted by their four children, Donald and Marian Brookman, and Christina of Richmond; Glenn Brookman and daughter Robin of Roanoke; Gary and Phyllis Carter of Charlotte, N.C.; Jerry Brookman of Yucca Valley, Calif. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The grandchildren not attending were Timothy Carter; Angela, Denny, Debra, Rebekah, Jonnathan and Jennifer Brookman; and their great-grandchild, Heather Estep, all are of California. Mrs. Brookman is an artist and former employee of Elizabeth Arden. Mr. Brookman is retired from Roanoke City School Board Cabinet Maintenance. The couple now reside in Roanoke. During the summer of 1992 they completed a tour through the entire 48 United States and Canada.
