CROSBY LEADS PH GIRLS TO TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP

Armenta Crosby of Patrick Henry won four track events and was voted most valuable field events performer and most valuable running events performer at the Keydet Invitational at VMI on Saturday.

Crosby placed first in the 55-meter dash, triple jump, 300-meter run and long jump to lead the Patriots to the girls' championship. She also ran on the 800-meter relay team that placed first.

Patrick Henry won with 105 points, followed by Cave Spring with 60 and Rockbridge County with 48.

Tiki Barber of Cave Spring was voted most valuable performer in field events for the boys. He won the 55-meter dash and set a meet record of 22 feet 8 inches in the long jump.

Christiansburg placed second in the boys' meet with 63 points. Northside was fourth with 43.
