MASON, Virginia Lee, 70, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, January 6,
1993, in Richmond. She leaves to cherish her memory one devoted son, Winfrey
McCoy James, Roanoke; one stepson, Thurman Mason Jr., Chicago, Ill.; one
stepdaughter, Gracie Johnson, California; six grandchildren, Winfrey Jr.,
Roland E., Ilka J., Anthony, Robin and Troy James, seven great-grandchildren,
and one daughter-in-law, Christine James, all of Baltimore, Md.; five sisters,
Beatrice Wesley, Martha Williams, Irene Dillard, Georgianna Robinson and
Jacqueline Cammack, all of Richmond; one brother, Godfrey Mosby, Baltimore,
Md.; two brothers-in-law, Richard Harris of Roanoke, Oliver Cammack of
Richmond; two devoted sisters-in-law, Marie Mason of Roanoke, Thelma Mason of
New York; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and one
devoted friend, Alma Price. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday,
January 12, 1993, at the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd
Coles officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Park. The
procession will form at 1701 Carroll Ave., N.W. The family will receive
friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
