OBIT LAYMAN, JEAN TERRY
LAYMAN, Jean Terry, 66, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 8, 1993, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born July 19, 1926, in Highland County, a daughter of the late John A. Terry and Mary Leach Terry. She was a housewife and private housekeeper. She is preceded in death by one brother, Billy Terry. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Layman, Roanoke; four sisters, Chloe Layman of Salem, Ellen Bussard of Mustoe, Va., Leeoma Terry of Richmond, Katherine Pullin of Staunton; and three brothers, Earnest Terry of Bolar, Va., Johnny Terry of Staunton, Leon Terry of Hot Springs. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 11, in McLaughlin Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with the Rev. Carl B. Basham officiating. Interment will follow in Warm Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dennis Layman, Tommy Terry, Lowell Terry, Billy Mae, Billy Junior Terry, Byron Terry, Johnny Terry and Stephen Terry. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
