OBIT LAYTON, CLARA ELIZABETH

LAYTON, Clara Elizabeth, 87, of Route 1, Boones Mill, died Sunday, January 10, 1993. Mrs. Layton was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew C. Layton, and was a member of the Boones Mill Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Lucille and John Malatras, Charlotte, N.C., Marie Compton, Boones Mill; one son, Danny Layton, Boones Mill; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dottie Mitchell, Kannapolis, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 12, 1993 at the Boones Mill Baptist Church by the Rev. James H. Steele. Burial will follow in the Clemons Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
