OBIT HENSON, JOHN ("JACK") WALKER III
HENSON, John ("Jack") Walker III, 56, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 8,
1993. He graduated from Roanoke College, Bank Marketing and Public Relations
School, North Western University, Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers
University. He retired from Colonial American National Bank in 1988, where he
was the executive vice president of retail banking. At the time of his death
he was the president of Henson Construction Co., Inc. He was past president of
the Roanoke Symphony and past president of the Advertising Club of the Roanoke
Valley. Mr. Henson served on many civic and cultural boards. Surviving are his
wife, Betty Waddell Henson; son, John Walker Henson IV; a daughter, Anne
Berkeley Henson, both of Roanoke; a brother, Whitfield P. Davis, Studio City,
Calif.; a cousin, Ruth Hawkins Webb, Appomattox. Graveside services will be at
the Evergreen Burial Park, 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Taylor Todd
officiating. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
The family will receive friends at their home.
