IT'S CONGRESS THAT IS ABOVE THE LAW
I FOUND your editorial of Dec. 29, about President Bush thinking he is above the law by pardoning former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger and five other people, very amusing. That doesn't bother me nearly as much as Congress passing laws and exempting themselves. These laws include:
The Social Security Act of 1935.
The National Labor Relations Act of 1935.
The Equal Pay Act of 1963.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The Freedom of Information Act of 1966.
The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
The Privacy Act of 1974.
The Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
And the list goes on and on. Who is above the law? DARLENE WILSON ROANOKE
