LOCUST GROVE OKS NEW TELEPHONE CALLING PLAN

Customers in Citizens Telephone Cooperative's Locust Grove exchange - numbers that begin with 651 - have voted for a new calling plan called Extended Local Service.

This plan would provide for local calling between Locust Grove and Christiansburg.

In order for this plan to become effective, Christiansburg subscribers must be surveyed to determine their willingness to pay the cost of this service from Christiansburg to Locust Grove.

This survey will begin on Jan. 22 and Christiansburg customers will have 60 days in which to respond. A majority of Christiansburg customers must vote for this plan for it to pass.

Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co.'s survey will consist of a random sample of 20 percent of the Christiansburg subscribers.

To provide local calling to Locust Grove, the Christiansburg flat-rate service would increase $.09 per line per month and the business flat rate would increase 31 cents per line per month.

If the new calling plan is approved, it should be instituted by the fourth quarter of this year.
