LAKE 4-H CENTER IMPROVEMENTS BEGUN
Phase I of improvements to the Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Educational Center is under way.Enhancements to the center will include a junior olympic pool and the Reynolds Horse Center. Also, many facility improvements have been made to the center, where more than 2,650 4-H members and adult volunteer leaders from the extension area participated in programs this year.
Contributions are now being received to complete payment of construction costs for a barrier-free lodge that can accommodate up to 80 disabled people. This lodge has been named the Hepler-Jamison Lodge and Conference Center. The lodge will enable children and adults with handicaps to take part in programs with other campers.
