TOP LINEMAN COMMITS TO UVA

Virginia has received a football commitment from one of the top linemen in the state, 6-foot-6, 230-pound Jay Strath from Varina.

Strath, rated one of the top 25 prospects in the state by the Roanoke Times & World-News, played tight end and defensive tackle in high school but is expected to be an offensive lineman in college.

Strath is the third player known to have committed to the Cavaliers. He canceled a visit scheduled for this weekend to Virginia Tech and said he turned down trips to Boston College, West Virginia and James Madison. - Staff report
