KING'S WIDOW: HOLIDAY `FOR ALL AMERICANS'

Coretta Scott King said Monday that next week's Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday should be "a day of reconciliation" for all Americans.

"It is not a day for African-Americans," she said. "It is a day for all Americans." She called for a one-day moratorium on violence on that day.

At the White House, President Bush issued a proclamation formally declaring Monday a holiday.
