65-YEAR-OLD MAN BEATEN, ROBBED
A 65-year-old man was beaten and robbed by two men in Southeast Roanoke about 1 a.m. Saturday.Charles Henry Casey, address unknown, was found by police lying on a sidewalk on Dale Avenue.
He had facial injuries and his nose appeared to have been broken.
Casey gave police a description of his two assailants before he was taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Jimmy Wayne Elkins, 27, of Stewart Avenue Southeast has been charged with robbery.
Police are seeking a second suspect in the robbery.

Dawn M. Sullivan, 20, of Route 1, Blue Ridge, was choked and slashed in the right wrist with a kitchen knife following an argument Friday with a man at his house on Broad Street Northwest.
Kathy Legans, 30, of Dudley Street Northwest was cut on the face with a knife after she refused to give money to a man Saturday morning.
Raymond Haley, 36, also of Dudley Street, was charged with malicious wounding.
Two armed bandits wearing ski masks took an undetermined amount of cash Saturday night from Saidun Khan, a clerk at the Star Valley Mini Mart on Highland Avenue Southeast.
