OBIT CARTER, HAZEL P.

CARTER, Hazel P., 67, of Route 1, Hardy, died Monday, January 11, 1993. She was a member of the Crystal Spring Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, James F. Carter; daughters and sons-in-law, Nellie and Gordon Durham, Keswick, Va., Glenna and Lewie Kennett, Burnt Chimney, June Carter, Roanoke; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Bobby Powers; a sister, Mrs. Pauline P. Wood, both of Staunton. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Harry Leland officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to Hospice of Roanoke Memorial, P.O. Box 13367, Roanoke, Va. 24033. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
