EDDY SEEKING BOARD RE-ELECTION
Saying he would like to rewrite history, Lee Eddy announced Tuesday that he would seek re-election this fall to the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors.Eddy said he would like to buck a 16-year trend that has seen Windsor Hills voters throw their representative out of office after only one term.
"I sincerely hope I have responded to the citizens of Roanoke County to the extent that . . . Windsor Hills voters will allow me to serve them another four years."
A Republican, Eddy said he would seek the GOP nomination. No other candidates for the seat have emerged.
In 1989, Eddy defeated incumbent Lee Garrett and last year served as board chairman.
Eddy is a self-employed electrical engineer who has lived in the Roanoke area since 1962. He served on the Board of Supervisors from 1968 to 1971, when he decided not to seek re-election.
