OBIT HALE, HERBERT H. ("JIM")

HALE, Herbert H. ("Jim"), 70, of Elliston, died Monday, January 11, 1993 at his home. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a long standing member of the Elliston-Shawsville Business Community establishing with his wife Hale's Truck Stop, Hale's Mobile Home Court and Hale's Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Hale, a brother, Joe Hale and a sister, Irene Hale. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie M. Hale; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gary and Cindy Hale, David and Sharon Hale, all of Elliston; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Conner and Doug Kessinger of Radford; three sisters, Mrs. Lissie Presley of Davenport, Mrs. Eunice Ray of Grundy, Mrs. Marie Coleman of Woodbridge; a brother, Beecher Hale of Grandville, Ohio; four granddaughters, Maria, Olivia, Lindsey and Amber Hale, all of Elliston. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 1993 at 1 p.m. at the Big Spring Baptist Church in Elliston with the Rev. Steve Sholah and the Rev. Ronald King officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shawsville Rescue Squad. Friends may call at Lotz Salem Chapel after 12 noon on Tuesday.
