OBIT KIRK, PAUL GIBSON

KIRK, Paul Gibson, 70, of Staffordsville, died Tuesday, January 12, 1993, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Matthews. He was born June 1, 1922, at Trigg, Va., the son of the late Jesse Reed Kirk and Mary Lelie Morehead Kirk. He was a member of Sheffey Memorial Methodist Church, was a veteran of World War II, a carpenter and a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Cleo Stafford Kirk; three sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey and Inza Kirk and Donnie and Joyce Kirk, all of Staffordsville; Kenneth and Frankie Kirk, Pearisburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Robbie Robertson, Salem, Bonnie and George Matthews, Roanoke, Betty and Robert Francis, White Gate; one sister, Mrs. Irene Tickle, Pearisburg; two brothers, Glen Kirk, Pearisburg, Walter Kirk, Rich Creek; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, at 2 p.m. at the Sheffey Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Margaret Wood Johnston officiating. Military graveside rites by the Giles American Legion and V.F.W. Post in the Kirk Cemetery at Bear Spring. The family will receive friends at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
