OBIT SPRINKLE, WILLIAM SHIRLEY, SR.
SPRINKLE, William Shirley, Sr., 69, of Pulaski, died Monday night in the Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem. He lived at 3 Haney Street, was born in Groseclose, Va. on October 6, 1923, and was the son of the late Vester Sprinkle and Grace Adams Sprinkle. He was a retired employee of R.A.A.P. having 42 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Fannie C. Sprinkle of Pulaski; two daughters, Geraldine Turner Champion of Long Beach, Calif., Debbie Winter of Falls Church, Va.; one son, William Shirley Sprinkle, Jr., of Lynchburg; one sister, Donna Cox of Colonial Beach, Va.; one brother, Fred Sprinkle of Sun City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski from 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Gayle Long, 361 Longview Court, Pulaski, Va. 24301. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
