OBIT ELKINS, ROY T.
ELKINS, Roy T., 77, of Thaxton, died Wednesday, January 13, 1993. He was a member of Faith Life Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Singer Furniture. Mr. Elkins was preceded in death by a son, Will Thomas "Billy" Elkins. Surviving are his wife, Lila S. Elkins; two daughters, Frances M. Stout, Burnt Chimney, Nancy E. Lanier, Buchanan; four grandchildren, Carol S. McGuire, Robert E. E. Stout, II, both of Roanoke, Lisa Elkins Fink, Salem, Jack A. Lanier Jr., Buchanan; great-grandson, Daniel Braden McGuire; two sisters, Dessie Kelly, Willie Mae Clark, both of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Faith Life Baptist Church, P.O. Box 203, Montvale, VA 24122. Services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Friday at Faith Life Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Basham officiating. Interment will follow in Montvale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke.
