OBIT HORTON, ELWOOD CROCKETT
HORTON, Elwood Crockett, 63, of Largen Hill Court (off Alum Spring Road),
Pulaski, died early Wednesday morning, January 13, 1993 at his home. He was
born in Carroll County on March 5, 1929, and was the son of the late Andrew
Horton and Myrtle Edwards Horton. He was a retired master mechanic having
worked for Pulaski Motor Co. and Hudson Chevrolet. He was a veteran of the
United States Navy having served in both World War II and Korea. He was a
member of the Jordan's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in
death by his son, Michael Elwood Horton. Surviving are his wife, Betty Largen
Horton, Pulaski; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Garrett Phillips, Forest;
son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debra Horton, Independence; one sister,
Marie Revenbark, Pa.; two grandsons, Matthew Horton, Independence, Andrew
Phillips, Forest; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral
service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the
Rev. Jack Stevens and the Rev. Danny McGlothlin officiating. Burial will
follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Thursday
at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9
p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
