OBIT WEATHERBY, JACK E.

WEATHERBY, Jack E., 77, of New Castle, Pa., died January 13, 1993 at Jameson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. His residence was 305 W. Madison Avenue, New Castle. He was born in New Castle, Pa., on July 12, 1915, the son of the late Walter Weatherby and Dora Mae Winger Weatherby. He was married to the late Helena Payne, who died on April 6, 1987. Mr. Weatherby was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 38 years. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, and N.A.L.C. (National Letter Carriers Assoc.). He is survived by his children, Mrs. Marlene Crisci Phillips, Transfer, Pa.; Mrs. Barbara Wagner, New Castle, Pa.; Jack B. Weatherby, Roanoke, Va.; Michael D. Weatherby and Bruce G. Weatherby, both of New Castle, Pa.; two brothers, Jennings ("Deacon") Weatherby, New Castle, Pa.; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, James, and brother, Vaughan. Funeral services will be held at R. Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa. noon on Saturday, January 16, 1993 with the Rev. Lisa Grant of Epworth Methodist Church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Visitation will be Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
